SMP TeliaSonera

New fixed and mobile telephony services place new demands for the pricing and collection of payments for network traffic to be fast and accurate.
 
In co-operation with TeliaSonera’s mobile business in Sweden, Cybercom developed a collection of solutions to manage charging for all types of mobile services, including data traffic and telephony. The solutions are built on the service management platform (SMP), which provides a single platform for pricing.
 
The SMP manages traditional global system for mobile communication (GSM) services including roaming and content. The SMP’s general design enables flexibility, to ensure it is easily adapted to different business systems. For example, other units in the TeliaSonera group can use the same platform, which yields fast return on invested capital.
 
The SMP enables operators to simply and quickly configure their service and product portfolios from a user-friendly interface.
 
“Cybercom was the supplier that could best meet our needs,” says Stefan Jakobsson at TeliaSonera Sweden. “And with its help, we could replace our old OS/390 pricing system with a new IT solution that runs on a Unix® platform, which is more flexible and economical for us.
