OMSI - one PC application for all manufacturers' mobile phones

Cybercom has developed software with an interface that enables retailers and repair centres to update and service all manufacturers’ mobile phones from just one PC application. This development was done under the auspices of the Open Mobile Service Interface (OMSI) project.

Nokia, BenQ, and Sony Ericsson are behind the OMSI effort. For some time now, Cybercom has been participating in standardisation in the device management area. And it was appointed administrator of the OMSI Forum. Cybercom developed the first OMSI software, which is used in pilot installations with operators.

The Forum’s purpose is to create a formal standard in co-operation with the Open Mobile Alliance (OMA).

Find out more at www.omsi-forum.org and www.openmobilealliance.org. Java, Web Services, .NET, and XML were used to build the OMSI.
