Cybercom was founded in March 1995. The fundamental idea was to create a competent consultancy company with the best consultants in the industry.
Since its start, Cybercom has focused on growth. The growth has occurred through organic growth as well as through strategic acquisitions. Cybercom was listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange’s O-list in 1999.
Key milestones
1995 - Cybercom is founded.
1996 - Cybercom’s Stockholm office opens and among its first customers is Telia.
1998 - The number of employees exceeds 200.
1999 - Cybercom works with mobile services. The Company is listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange’s O-list in December 1999.
2000 - Cybercom focuses on services aimed at the telecom and finance sectors.
2001 - Cybercom establishes an operation in Denmark with focus on e-business solutions. The Company has 300 employees.
2002 - Cybercom establishes in the UK by the acquisition of Stratum Project Management with operations in financial solutions and with Reuters as the largest customer. An important global application management responsibility for Sony Ericsson’s portal is gained.
2003 - Cybercom acquires Consafe Infotech and establishes a strong position within services to the telecom sector in the Öresund region. In conjunction with the acquisition, the JCE Group and J Christer Ericsson, personally, become major shareholders in Cybercom.
2004 - Cybercom strengthen its position within the telecom market and within selected technologies. The Company is, among other things, appointed partner in the EU research project SIMS, concerning development of mobile services and applications for 3G.
2005 - Cybercom acquires Netcom Consultants, which operates within telecom management. The acquisition adds additional offices in Stockholm and Singapore as well as the key international customers Millicom and Tele2.
2006 - Cybercom launches a joint venture in Mumbai, in India, together with the Indian company Datamatics Ltd. In December 2006, Cybercom closes its operations in Norway.
2007 - In January, Cybercom acquires the Swedish IT consulting company Varchar, which adds important customers within new market segments. Cybercom acquires auSystems’ operations in Sweden, Denmark and Poland from the Teleca group in May. Due to the acquisition of auSystems, Cybercom’s sales and head count more than doubles. In May, Patrik Boman joins as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company.
