— Exploratory Testing – The True Story |
|
Exploratory software testing is a powerful approach, yet widely misunderstood. In some situations, it can be orders of magnitude more productive than scripted testing.
Exploratory testing is any testing to the extent that the tester actively controls the design of the tests as those tests are performed and uses information gained while testing to design new and better tests. However many feel that exploratory testing is fuzzy. One common obstacle is how to align exploratory testing with your normal ways of reporting; such as keeping track of each tester’s progress, what have been tested, what bugs have been found, and what the priorities are for further testing?
During this seminar James will introduce you to exploratory testing. He will also give a managers perspective on how to visualize exploratory testing activities. After attending this session you will be able to perform and report exploratory testing in a straight forward way that will stand up for scrutiny. |
| 11:45-13:15 |
— Lunch |
|
Lunch is included whether you attend one or both of the seminars. When registering please state if you will join us for lunch, also make a note of any special foods, allergies etc. |
| 13:15-16:30 |
— Test Automation – The Agile Way |
|
Are you one of those that bought the myth of the silver bullet, a one solution test automation tool that will solve all your problems? Are you now suffering the consequences of managing and updating scripts and trying to adapt one tool for all purposes?
Why think so narrowly about test automation? It does not have to involve major investments from a big tool vendor; instead consider thinking of test automation as any use of tools to support testing. Agile test automation is the application of agile development principles to the test automation problem.
James will present his alternative to use an agile toolsmith, paired with the testers, to get value from your test automation really fast. After attending this session you will look at your automation strategy with a fresh set of eyes. |
| 16:30–18:00 |
— After Work |
| |
Drinks and snacks at the bar, please stay and continue the discussions with us and James. |
